Nakivubo events manager assures of security as stadium opens to the public

Events manager Madiina Zalwango has assured the Ugandans that intend to attend the mega opening of the Hamz Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium of total security before, during, and after the event.

Addressing a press conference at Nakivubo ahead of the event, Zalwango said different layers of security will be deployed around the stadium to ensure total security.

 “I want to affirm to Ugandans that we have a team of 300 stewards who are key in guarding inside the stadium; to guard against people that might come to the event with bad intentions,” Zalwango who doubles as an international events manager said.

“Every corner of this stadium is going to be watched by our stewards. On the outside, since ammunitions are not allowed in the stadium, some of the roads surrounding the stadium will be closed off to be used by only the ticket holders who will be coming to the stadium

“We shall have both the police and military deployed on the routes leading to the stadium to help Ugandans come in and exit safely. So, the facility is not the old Nakivubo that we were all used to, it has changed, and the developer has ensured that the security of this place is very good,” she stated.

“We shall guide the people to the event. Once you enter the stadium, your security is paramount. There is a map on the back of the ticket offering directions to the stadium

Tickets are sold at the different gates of the stadium on top of the other selling points at the New Vision offices in the Industrial Area.

What remains of the tickets is about 150 for the VIPs and several others for the ordinary seating. On the tickets are printed directions that will guide the holder on what gate to use and what section.

“We have also made our signage and way-finding system extremely good so that you can locate the gate from every direction you come from.,” she stated.
