Rally driver Michael Mukula Jr is focussing on winning the Clubman Rally Championship (CRC)category this year.
Navigated by Edward Kiyingi, Mukula won the CRC category in the May 6-8, 2022 Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Rally.
“Finishing the Pearl rally was our target and fulfilling it was a dream come true and is an exceptional achievement to us as a team that has just started racing,” Mukula told Vision Sports.
“Ending day two in the 4th position and 19th overall in such a competition full of the big boys, with other champions in their respective countries and more experienced crews gives me confidence that we are on the right track,” the 37-year-old said.
Mukula also contends that his performance lived above his expectations and it is a big motivation for him.
Driving a Subaru N12B, Mukula leads the Clubman rally championship with 40points, 34 ahead of Henry Maseruka who is in the second position, and Rashid Makumbi is the other rookie.
The next event is the UMC Fort portal rally in the Tourism City.
