The Stanbic Black Pirates delivered a ruthless performance, thrashing Warriors 72-0 at Legends Kampala Rugby Club, with William Nkore earning the Man of the Match honours.

At Kyadondo Rugby Club, Toyota Buffaloes stunned defending champions Platinum Heathens with a narrow 21-20 victory in a fiercely contested match. This marks Heathens’ third consecutive loss, having previously fallen to Pirates (33-31) and Jinja Hippos (32-28).

Meanwhile, in Entebbe, KCB Kobs celebrated a dominant 40-17 win over Plascon Mongers, with centre Ian Munyani securing his second Man of the Match accolade of the season.

“I am excited to win my second Man of the Match award. I won the first against Victoria Sharks, and this is a sign of consistency and motivates me to work hard,” Munyani said.

Kobs captain Frank Kakula praised the team’s effort and the motivation that individual accolades bring.

“It is good we won with a bonus point, and we also had the Man of the Match from our team, which is a good motivation to the team,” Kakula said.

Pius Ogena, Andrew Odhiambo, Josiah Sempeke, and Richard Abigaba all crossed the whitewash for Kobs, while Joseph Aredo added conversions and penalties.

For Mongers, Robin Odrua slotted four penalties, while Lauren Kalule managed their only try.

The championship continues on Saturday with fixtures across various grounds.
