KCB KOBs humiliated neighbours Platinum Heathens with a devastating 37–15 win in a much-anticipated Nile Special Rugby League encounter at Legends Ground, Lugogo, on Saturday evening.

Kobs took advantage of playing at home and applied lessons learned from the Enterprise Cup in Kenya, despite their loss to Nondescripts in that tournament.

The almost one-sided contest marked another humiliation for rugby giants Heathens, who were eliminated from the Enterprise Cup the previous weekend after a 61–19 loss to Kabras at Wankulukuku.

Calvin Gizamba, Mike Otto, and Joseph Aredo were the try-scoring heroes for Kobs, while Alphonse Openy registered the only response for Heathens in a match officiated by Brian Katakwire.

Kobs captain Makumbi praised his side for their determination and adherence to the game plan, saying they managed to overcome the giants while entertaining their home fans.

“We have secured a good placement in the league and are just waiting for the next fixture. We learned a lot of lessons from the Enterprise Cup, and the team is determined to keep the winning run going,” Makumbi noted.

For Heathens, it was a day of lamentations, with captain Nobert Okeny admitting that their performance fell short, particularly in the backs.

“We did not play as expected, but there is room for improvement in the upcoming matches. I am sure we are still in the title race,” Okeny said.
