The Nile Special Rugby Premiership returns this weekend with a thrilling lineup of fixtures following last weekend’s Enterprise Cup action.

On Saturday, KCB KOBs will host Platinum Credit Heathens at Legends in a clash that carries historic rivalry, though expectations are tempered given the current form of both sides.

KOBs have a point to prove after suffering setbacks against their long-time rivals. They face a Heathens side that, unlike its dominant past teams, appears to be in a period of transition. Following a disappointing showing against Kabras last week, Heathens, who have already lost twice this season, could face further struggles.

For KOBs, this presents a prime opportunity to frustrate a side that has not been operating at full strength in recent weeks. Despite their own Enterprise Cup exit, KOBs showed improvement and regained some pride.

League leaders Stanbic Black Pirates will return to Kyadondo to face Victoria Sharks, who suffered their first loss of the season against Heathens in their previous outing. Pirates will face a tough test against a Sharks side on the rise, eager to prove they belong in the Premiership by taking a scalp off the defending champions.

In Jinja, Kakira, one of two winless teams in the league, will chase their first victory. Hosting Walukuba offers one of their best chances to rise to the occasion and show they have what it takes to remain in the top flight.

Elsewhere, Buffaloes will look to improve their season tally when they host a struggling Warriors side, while Impis will face Rhinos in Makerere.
