Victoria v KIU
The KIU Titans’ four-game unbeaten run ground to a screeching halt with a shock 73-87 loss to newly-promoted Tropical Royals last week.
The reverse – KIU’s third of the season – was a reminder of the inconsistencies that come with a young team. Impressive against tougher opposition like the UPDF Tomahawks, the Titans were out of sorts against Brian Rugyendo’s Royals, who moved to four wins for the season with the triumph over KIU.
So, how will Julius Lutwama’s side respond to their encounter with another young side in Victoria University today at Lugogo?
Of course, it is tempting to write this game off as a sure victory for KIU, given that Victoria have one win all season, but it is also worth adding that win came against table leaders UCU.
Victoria need wins desperately or their maiden season in the NBL will end in relegation to the second tier. And they will look at KIU’s loss to the Royals as encouragement of a potential win of their own.
