In the opening match of the day, Kampala Rockets outlasted a late charge by the KIU Titans to win 53-47 in a thrilling match.

The Rockets started strong, going 23 points ahead in the first half as KIU failed to get on the board, scoring only two points in the first quarter.

Joseph Wacha tied the game with the equalizing 44-all with four minutes left, but the Rockets kept calm and made crucial plays to seal the game.

Pauti Kikomba dominated with 11 points and 21 rebounds. Daniel Odonkyero led all scorers with 26 points. Bang Difu Desmasiro also impressed for KIU with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
