With seven victories in nine outings, the KCCA Panthers are enjoying their finest season in the National Basketball League (NBL).

Taking on the Kampala Rockets tonight at the YMCA, Raymond Muhumuza’s side are massive favourites to garner an eighth win, which even by the most optimistic projections KCCA could not have imagined coming so soon into the season.

But quality additions to the roster have made KCCA a much stronger outfit than they were last season, which still produced the club's first playoff victory. This year, KCCA hope to reach the semifinals, although the second round of the campaign will paint a clearer picture of their chances to achieve that goal.

The Rockets are 4-4 so far and sit six places below third-placed KCCA in the standings. The Rockets are on a two-game winning streak, following victories over the JKL Dolphins and KIU Titans, who are the only winless side in the NBL.

KIU, who are 0-8, are also in action today, against the Victoria Crocs at the MTN Arena. Victoria are 4-5 and are looking to end a three-game losing streak, which if achieved will push the Titans one step closer to the drop.
