Aiming to bounce back from recent frustration in front of goal in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, Kitara FC are preparing for a demanding clash at Royal Park, Butema, on Thursday (November 20) against BUL FC, with head coach Wasswa Bbosa confident his side is ready to respond.

“BUL is a strong team with very good players and coaches, but we have trained well and we want to make sure we get the three points at home to make our fans proud,” Bbosa said.

He pointed to the advantage of the league break, saying it gave his team space to address their attacking struggles.

“We lost three points in our last match against SC Villa because we created chances but failed to score, so during the break we spent a lot of time improving our finishing so that we can take our chances,” he explained.

Kitara sit 10th with seven points, heading into the fixture after a 1–0 defeat to SC Villa, where Frank Ssebuufu scored in the 66th minute.

BUL FC arrive fourth with 10 points, having drawn 1–1 with NEC earlier this month at the MTN Omondi Stadium, with goals from Jerome Kiirya and Joseph Dhata.

In another fixture, Lugazi FC will host Express FC at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe.

Lugazi come into the match after an emphatic 5–2 victory over Buhimba United Saints, with goals from David Bagoole, Abdul Kalanzi, Dawson Mafumu and a brace from Freedom Mungudit. They are ninth with eight points and are targeting a third win.

Later at 8 pm, SC Villa will play NEC at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.

SC Villa, who are third with 10 points, defeated Kitara 1–0 in their previous match through a goal from Frank Ssebufu. Head coach Nemanja Kovacevic has now secured three consecutive wins.

NEC, under new coach Badru Kaddu, earned a 1–1 draw against BUL in his first match in charge.

They sit 12th with six points and will attempt to upset an in-form Villa side to move further away from the relegation zone, where they are currently two positions above it.
