Gabon midfielder Axel Mezui Me Nkili has promised to give his best after completing his move to KCCA FC during the mid-season transfer window.

"I have heard great things about the club, the fans and the league. I am eager to get started, meet my new teammates and contribute my best to help the team achieve its goals and bring more silverware to Lugogo," Mezui said.

"I am incredibly happy and proud to join KCCA FC, a club with such a rich history and ambitious future," he added.

The towering playmaker joins the Kasasiro Boys from Gabonese side Football Canon 105 on a two-year and four-month contract that will keep him at Lugogo until the end of the 2027/28 season. He becomes KCCA's first signing in the mid-season window.

Mezui, who has been with Canon 105 since 2024, impressed the KCCA technical team with his vision, range of passing and strong physical presence in midfield. He had been training with the club for weeks before sealing the move.

KCCA have also signed Ugandan forward Kennedy Muserero from Edgars FC.

"I am happy to join KCCA FC, a club with such a rich history and passionate fanbase. It is a dream come true to play for this team, and I am eager to contribute to their success and help achieve our ambitions on the pitch. I cannot wait to get started here," Muserero said.

The striker has signed a three-year and four-month contract. He joins after a strong first round with Edgars FC, where he scored 16 goals to lead the Kampala Region League scoring chart. His strength, aerial ability and finishing are expected to boost KCCA's attack.

KCCA currently sit fifth on the Uganda Premier League table with 33 points after 17 matches. They are five points behind leaders Vipers SC, who have 38 points. Kitara FC are second on 36 points, while Entebbe UPPC and SC Villa are tied on 34 points, making the title race highly competitive.

In recent matches, KCCA beat BUL 2-1 and Entebbe UPPC 1-0, and also secured a 4-0 win over UPDF. However, they lost 3-1 to NEC and 2-0 to Police, and drew 0-0 with Maroons. The mixed results have left them chasing the top four.

The new signings could make their debut when KCCA visit Buhimba United Saints at Royal Park, Butema on Monday. They will then host Police on March 6 and Express on March 11 before facing Lugazi away on March 14.
