KCCA FC have dismissed head coach Abdallah Mubiru following a series of underwhelming performances in the Uganda Premier League.

First-team coach Jackson Magera will take interim charge until the end of the season.

Club sources reveal Mubiru was called before the board on Monday to address the team's slump—including a crushing 4-0 defeat to Kitara—but failed to attend, citing illness. A decisive follow-up meeting on Thursday saw board members unanimously agree to terminate his tenure.

The decision comes as little surprise, with KCCA languishing in sixth place on 34 points—effectively out of title contention. Mubiru, who replaced Portuguese manager Sergio Traguil in November 2023, struggled to revive the club's fortunes during his brief spell in charge.

Magera now faces the challenge of steadying the ship as KCCA look to salvage their season.
