Partnering with winners is a proven path to sustained success, and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) is doubling down on its support for champions.

After KCB Nkumba Women’s Volleyball Club clinched a record ninth title at the 2024/2025 National Club Championship, KCB Uganda Managing Director Edgar Byamah challenged the team to set their sights even higher.

Speaking during a trophy presentation at the bank’s offices in Kololo on July 7, 2025, Byamah commended the team’s achievement but urged them not to rest on their laurels.

“Don’t take this stage in your lives for granted. Be disciplined and aim higher as you build your careers,” he said. “We want more wins—on the national stage and across the continent.”

Byamah reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting sports development and nurturing young talent, noting that KCB supports several sports clubs across the region.

Club head coach Tonny Lakony expressed gratitude for the bank’s continued sponsorship and echoed the ambition for more silverware.

“Our next goal is to defend the championship, then shift focus to the league, the KAVC Memorial, which is a continental event, and ultimately the Africa Club Championship,” Lakony said.

The team is also set to travel to Italy later this year, in a return visit to the Italian club that toured Kampala earlier in 2025.

KCB has sponsored the Nkumba volleyball team for the past six years and is also a major supporter of the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.
