The stage is set for a blockbuster showdown as last year’s runners-up, Uganda Christian University (UCU), prepare to face Kampala University in the Netball final of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games.
The hosts booked their place in the final with a commanding 43–23 victory over Makerere University, sending a strong signal of their intent to claim gold this year. Kampala University also impressed, edging Nkumba University 22–18 in a tightly contested semi-final.
UCU head coach Nelson Bwogere praised his team’s performance but emphasized the importance of fine-tuning ahead of the final. “I’m impressed with the girls’ performance. They displayed good netball, and we shall correct the few errors and go for the gold, which is our target,” Bwogere said.
Meanwhile, heavy morning rain on Monday, December 22, 2025, disrupted the Games, forcing a two-hour standstill. Outdoor events including volleyball, handball, taekwondo, and basketball were temporarily halted due to the downpour.
