Kawempe Muslim will be hoping to continue their good run in the second round as they take on Rines away at Kabaka Kyabaggu on Sunday in the FUFA Women's Super League.
The Kampala side has not lost any of their six games in the second round in all competitions. In the league, they have won three and drawn one, while they have won all their two games in the FUFA Women's Cup.
Last weekend, Kawempe Muslim eliminated UCU Lady Cardinals in the round of 16 of the FUFA Women Cup and this was a boost for their next game, according to coach Moses Nkata.
“We are looking forward to putting up a good performance in the coming games. We want to make sure we continue performing well in the games we play. We still have a challenge as we create a lot of chances but don’t utilize all of them but with time, we shall be where we want to be,” noted Nkata.
Forward Allen Nassazi who scored a brace as they eliminated UCU in the Women's Cup will be vital for Kawempe Muslim just like Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Hadijah Nandago who missed penalties against UCU.
Nassazi has promised to replicate last weekend’s performance.
“I want to continue performing well. My target is to make sure that I help my team win in every game we play,” noted Nassazi.
Just like Kawempe Muslim, Rines also relatedly had a good performance in the second round. In the four games played, they won two and shared points in the other two games.
Rines coach Bright Nyanzi has promised a good show from his side.
“We are at home and this motivates us to perform more. We know that our opponents are doing well but we shall try to perform at our best,” noted Nyanzi.
Elsewhere, Makerere University will face Uganda Martyrs in Makerere while Kampala Queens will take on UCU Lady Cardinals at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) at Kabojja. In this game, Kampala Queens needs a point to be declared champions.
