Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Elite Schools Games girls football defending champions Kawempe Moslem went closer to retaining the title after beating St Noa 3-1 to go four games unbeaten in the competition.

Hadijah Babirye scored twice with Shadia Nabirye adding the third for Kawempe, who had edged Boni Consilii Girls 2-0 in the morning game and with one game remaining, Kawempe top with 12 points of a round robin competition, followed by Boni Consilii who labored to beat Bukedea Comprehensive 2-1 for their 3rd win and 9 points.

The boys’ football went into the semifinals with hosts Jinja beating Westville 1-0 to reach the final and will wait the opponent between Jinja Progressive and Kawempe Moslem for tomorrow’s finale.

Buddo SS retained the girls basketball 3x3 accolade after topping the rest 3 opponents and are closer to retaining the girls’ netball accolade after beating Kawempe Moslem 51-18 for their forth straight win of the competition and will be crowned champions if they win their last game tomorrow.

Bukedea Comprehensive girls beat Jinja SS 2-0 to also come closer winning their maiden girls title and will meet Ngora Girls in the last game tomorrow to determine the girls champion while in the boys category, Bukedea Comprehensive still posted a 2-0 win over co-hosts Jinja College to record maximum points in three games and will also play the last game against holders Standard High Zzana with the winner being crowned champion.

In Handball girls, Kakungulu beat hosts Jinja SS 13-6 but were pegged back  by a 10-7 loss to Wampewo who now lead the girls table with maximum points after beating Gombe SS 20-8 in the first game and in the boys categoryKakungulu beat new comers MM Wailaka and Wailaka again lost 22-16 to Gombe but regained to beat Jinja College 25-21.

The three day games that started Thursday, will be ending tomorrow Saturday with the finals in Boys football and the awarding ceremony.
