KAVC Chazpir produced a spirited performance to emerge champions of the men’s category at this year’s NSSF KAVC International Volleyball Tournament, overcoming Kenya’s Equity Volleyball Club in a tense 3-1 victory at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The clash lived up to its billing, with both sides displaying power and precision, but it was the Ugandan side that held their nerve in the decisive moments.

Backed by a roaring home crowd, KAVC Chazpir capitalised on their momentum to seal the contest and reclaim glory in front of their fans.

In the women’s final, it was an all-Rwandan affair as APR and Police faced off in a highly charged battle that went the full distance.

The two teams traded sets in a seesaw affair that had the spectators on edge, but APR showed more composure in the decisive moments, eventually taking the game 3-2.

The triumph crowned APR as the 2025 NSSF KAVC International Volleyball Tournament champions, a reward for their resilience and dominance throughout the competition.

Earlier in the day, KCCA secured the men’s bronze medal after dispatching Chema Volleyball Club of Kenya in straight sets.

The Ugandan side was in complete control, winning 28-26, 25-12, and 25-21. Their victory not only guaranteed a podium finish but also reaffirmed their growing strength in regional competitions.

The women’s bronze medal playoff also produced plenty of entertainment, with KAVC B rallying from a set down to edge Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) 3-1.

After dropping the opening set 17-25, the Ugandans roared back in spectacular fashion, storming through the next two sets 25-09 and 25-11. With confidence restored, they finished the job in the fourth set, winning 25-20 to secure third place and give the home crowd more reason to celebrate.

This year’s edition of the NSSF KAVC Memorial Tournament once again underlined the depth of talent and fierce competitiveness in East and Central African volleyball.

With teams from Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda showcasing thrilling rallies and remarkable skill, the tournament not only honored the legacy of KAVC but also reaffirmed its place as one of the region’s most prestigious volleyball competitions.
