The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series returns for the third leg of the 2025 season this Saturday at the Entebbe Club’s par-71 golf course.

This week’s edition will utilize the 'Daytona' format, which was also used in the season opener. In this format, players compete in pairs, with each player recording their score on every hole.

However, only the lower score of the two will count towards the team’s total, meaning only one score is considered, while the other is disregarded. In anticipation of tee-off this Saturday, the series is continuing its tradition of daily online trivia questions related to the tournament and its sponsors.

The trivia begins on the Monday of the week leading up to each event, and this edition's quiz winners will receive Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve bottles during the 19th-hole experience on Saturday. Organizers expect a full course, as hundreds of golfers have already registered for this quarterly outing.

“The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series stands out for the exceptional experience it offers both on and off the course. This Saturday promises to be no different. The format encourages interaction on the fairways, and the 19th hole will be as exciting as always,” said Katogo Captain Elly Kibuuka-Mukasa.

Mukasa also mentioned that there would be exciting prizes for the top seven pairs, the gross winner (individual), and side-bet winners. Annette Nakiyaga, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at I&M Bank, emphasized the growing popularity of the series among golf enthusiasts.

“Together with our partners, we’ve curated unique experiences for each outing, including different formats and themed 19th hole experiences. We look forward to Saturday’s leg of the series, and we believe it will deliver yet another memorable and engaging experience for all participants,” Nakiyaga stated.

The event will feature a hole-in-one prize: an Outlander Sport (X-force), generously provided by Victoria Motors and insured by GA Insurance, a partner of the series. To date, no golfer has achieved a hole-in-one. This weekend, the 19th hole experience will have a Soul RnB theme, and participants are encouraged to wear cowboy attire.

The event will be hosted by renowned comedian Patrick ‘Salvado’ Idringi. Johnnie Walker will enhance the 19th-hole experience with exciting cocktails and special bottle offers from their catalog. “Johnnie Walker represents progress and taking bold steps to make the perfect swing. This series has provided an excellent opportunity to showcase those values, and we are proud to be part of it. We look forward to an exciting day both on and off the course,” said Christine Kyokunda, the Brand Manager for Johnnie Walker Uganda.

In the previous leg, which featured floodlights golf, Team Kyaayi Mukalu, consisting of Mukasa Mulema and Abbas Luyombo, won the men’s category with 40 points, while Edith Wamalwa and Anne Abeja of Team Hot Birdies & Bling took the ladies’ category with 37 points. The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is sponsored by Johnnie Walker, Victoria Motors, GA Insurance, Rwanda Air, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa, Kampala Serena Hotel, Fenon Events, Goldman’s Luxury, NBS Sport, Case Hospital, and Time Cop Security.
