The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series 2025 season is set to return this Saturday after a three-month break, promising fresh excitement at the Entebbe Club’s par-71 golf course.

Katogo Captain Elly Kibuka Mukasa confirmed that preparations are complete for the season opener, which will be played under the innovative ‘Rejected’ format.

“We are all set for this Saturday. Based on online subscriptions, we expect a full course. We promise a memorable experience for everyone, both on and off the course,” Mukasa said.

The event will feature exciting prizes for the top five male pairs and the top three lady pairs, as well as side bet winners. A standout highlight is the hole-in-one prize: a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (X-Force), generously provided by Victoria Motors and insured by GA Insurance, a key partner of the series.

Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming season, noting the series’ continued growth.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this initiative. The I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series has become a unique platform for golfers to enjoy the game in a fun and engaging way,” she said.

“This year, golfers can look forward to new and exciting formats, and together with our partners, we’ve curated an enhanced 19th hole experience.”

The season has already begun off the course with daily online trivia questions related to golf and the tournament, testing participants’ knowledge. Winners will be announced at the 19th hole this Saturday.

The ‘Rejected’ Format Explained

In this format, both players tee off at every hole. Based on the location of the tee shots, the opposing team selects the position from which the next shot should be played.

Players then move their balls to this chosen position (placing their ball no more than one scorecard length from their partner's ball) and continue playing until they hole out.

The better net score among the pair on each hole counts as the team score. However, each team has six holes where they can reject the chosen position and select their own for their second shots. At these holes, the worse net score will determine the team score.

19th Hole Experience
The post-tournament festivities will be hosted by renowned comedian Patrick ‘Salvador’ Idringi, with talented songstress Naava Grey headlining the entertainment. Naava recently celebrated a sold-out concert at the Kampala Serena, with I&M Bank as her partner.

Johnnie Walker will elevate the experience with delicious cocktails and special bottle offers. Other partners of the I&M Katogo Golf Series 2025 include RwandAir, Fenon Events, Serena Hotel, Lake Victoria Golf Resort & Spa, Time Cop Security, and Goldman’s Luxury.

Subsequent rounds of the series will feature formats such as ‘For Better or Worse,’ Daytona, and In Regulation, ensuring a season full of variety and excitement.
