Following their heavy loss to league leaders Pirates last weekend, Jinja Hippos coach Edmond Quarisma is hopeful his team will recover and secure a victory this Saturday when they host struggling Entebbe Plascon Mongers at Dam Waters Playground.

Despite the setback, the Jinja side has enjoyed their best-ever start to the league season, recording six consecutive wins.

Their impressive run includes home victories against Toyota Buffaloes, Walukuba Barbarians, Warriors, and a standout win against reigning champions Heathens, as well as away triumphs over Victoria Sharks and Elgon Wolves. This strong form has cemented their status as one of the title favorites this year.

“Last weekend’s result was a one-off against a very tactical Pirates side, but we need to bounce back at home. There’s no more room for errors this time,” said Quarisma.

Currently, Jinja Hippos sit third on the table, behind Pirates and Kobs, after seven league matches. They will be looking to close the gap and regain momentum as the season progresses.
