Police women’s handball team head coach, Aziz Yakubu, has urged his players to maintain their consistency on the court to protect their two-point advantage at the top of the table.
Yakubu made the appeal after his team secured victories in both of their weekend fixtures at the Old Kampala Arena, defeating Kyengeza 55-38 and whipping Mbogo High 59-29.
“These results have given us greater stability, confidence, and momentum as we enter the decisive stage of the season," Yakubu said. "We remain focused, determined, and hungry to finish the job, which is to defend our title.”

Police currently lead the standings with 26 points, sitting two points ahead of second-placed Prisons (24 points), while boasting a commanding goal difference of +130. However, with the gap still tightly contested, Yakubu cautioned his charges against complacency.
In the other women's fixtures, UPDF narrowly edged Kyengeza 41-38, Wananchi beat Soroti 41-33, and Kawanda defeated Soroti 57-24 before going on to upset Mbogo High 24-17 in a thrilling battle of the schools.
In the men’s league, Makerere University emerged as 33-28 winners over Kawanda Secondary School, while Evergreen defeated Kawanda 44-35. Elsewhere, former champions Prisons beat Kampala University 44-36, but Kampala University quickly bounced back to ruthlessly whip Wananchi 70-22.
