Under pressure, KCCA head coach Morley Byekwaso has warned his players not to get blown away by the hype around Vipers who made it to the group stages of the CAF Champions League, and to stay focused on today's clash at Lugogo.

“We are playing a team that is in good form following their qualification for the CAF Champions League and a lot of praise is around them, but we must not get carried away by that. Let us stay focused on what we want which is to play well and get the three points,” Byekwaso said.

“We can't keep talking about what happened last season. It is all in the past and the focus should now be on this current season, how we are going to improve ourselves so that what happened to us doesn't happen again, that is what I am very much concerned about,” he added.

KCCA suffered a humiliating 18-point gap between themselves in second place and Vipers who went on to win the league title last season.

It was too painful for many KCCA fans to take because their side led the table for the entire first round of the league but Byekwaso and his men surrendered to Vipers who came from third place to win the championship.

There is renewed hope that KCCA's reinforcements added in the transfer window in Allan Okello, Moses Waisswa and Muhammad Shaban will help the Lugogo side to break down Vipers' supremacy this season.

However, that hope is slowly fading away given the poor start to the season as KCCA have registered a win and a loss in two games played.

Their performance has attracted strong criticism of Byekwaso from the Club patron and Lord Mayor of Kampala Erias Lukwago who has demanded an improvement.

Vipers make a trip to Lugogo fresh from their maiden champions league group stages qualification where they eliminated Five-time champions TP Mazembe a week ago in Lubumbashi, Congo.

Last season Vipers ended KCCA's title hopes here at Lugogo by registering a 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Milton Karisa and former striker Cesar Manzoki.

These two sides have met 25-times and Vipers have come on top on 12 occasions while KCCA has only six wins and there are seven stalemates.

This will be Vipers' second game since that disappointing start to the season in a shocking 0-0 draw at home to Soltilo Bright Stars.
