Butembe saza coach Bosco Mugerwa and his counterpart Amos Amodoi are fired up ahead of the seventh edition final, slated for December 15 at Bugembe Stadium.
Despite starting at a slow pace in the Kagulu Hill group, many fans had written off Butembe for this year's final. However, after recruiting Mugerwa for the knockout stages, his team eliminated Bunha and Bugabula in the quarterfinals and semifinals to reach the final.
Bukono has also surprised many by ejecting Busiki and Buzaya during their best-ever tournament, marking their first qualification into the knockout stages in seven years.
"My team struggled financially, but the boys have shown how hungry they are to reach here. We now want to break the streak of losing in three finals," said Butembe's coach Mugerwa.
"My team is fearless, so we are simply good enough to lift it," replied Amodoi of Bukono.
Butembe won the competition in 2017 but lost in the finals of 2018, 2021, and 2023.
Saturday's clash will see them aiming for their second title, leveling with Kigulu.
The winning team will walk away with the trophy and a cash prize of sh13m, while the second place will receive sh9m. Bugabula and Buzaya will settle for sh6m and sh4m, respectively.
