The match was played at Hindocha Primary School in Bugiri District, where Bugabula dominated from start to finish.
Edgar Magombe opened the scoring in the 10th minute, while an own goal by Bukooli Bugiri’s Sosi in the 90th minute sealed the victory.
Meanwhile, defending champions Butembe FC played out a goalless draw against Kigulu FC at Namagera Town Council playground.
Another match at Buluuba Hospital ground saw Bunha FC and Buzaaya FC battle to a tense 0-0 stalemate in their tournament openers. Despite having scoring opportunities, both sides failed to find the breakthrough.
Buzaaya’s assistant coach, Daniel Katongole, expressed satisfaction with the point earned away from home. “With only 11 licenses, we still managed a draw. We’ll do better in our next match,” he said.
Bunha FC’s head coach, Bosco Mugerwa, described the match as fair and promised fans a win against Bulamogi on July 27. “We had plenty of chances, but couldn’t convert. My players gave it their all,” added Mugerwa, who previously coached Butembe FC.
Striker Ashraf Maganda was more confident, boldly predicting a 3-0 victory in their next outing.
Across three venues, Sunday's fixtures delivered one win and two draws.
At Kisiki College playground in Namutumba Town Council, Busiki FC overwhelmed Bukooli Namayingo FC with a 3-0 victory. Goals came from Abdullah Kawanguzi (31st minute), Katibu Lunkabire (45th minute, header), and Simon Euko (52nd minute, powerful shot)—sending fans into a frenzy.
Elsewhere at Bugadde Primary School in Mayuge District, Bugweri edged past Bunole Bunanhumba 2-1 to claim all three points.
