Motocross fans have a reason to celebrate as the long-awaited Armed Forces Motocross Championship returns on November 12 to 13.

The prestigious event dubbed the inter-continental event because of the composition of the participants is set to be held at the Uganda Motorsport Arena Busiika, Luwero District.

However, according to Peter Ndiwalana, an official of the Motorcycling Association (MAU), which is organising the championship, the tentative date is November 13.

The championship that excited fans most did not take place in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid -19 pandemic outbreak that led to the global lockdown and suspension of all gatherings.

Now, just like the 2019 edition, the event in appreciation of the services of armed forces in the region will attract racers from European countries including Germany, Spain, Belgium, Canada, the USA, France, and the Netherlands.

Uganda’s top racers including Alon Orland, Stav Orland, Milton Akaaki, Jude Kyle Musedde, Larry Sekamwa, Ramathan Mubiru, Jeremiah Mawanda, the Omar brothers Ali, Waleed and Wazir, and Africa champion Gift Sebuguzi have already intensified training.

Africa champion in the 85cc class Gift Tabula Sebuguzi targets duplicating the same results in the Armed Forces and has intensified training in Busiika.

"We know this event attracts the creme de la cream in the world. We set the bar high in the MXOAN. So, we are training hard to live up to the expectations," Ronald Sebuguzi, the father of Gift said.

"I’m happy that MAU and BAR Aviation has given us this opportunity for our racers to get exposure, and we shall use it," Sebuguzi added.

Ronald Sebuguzi, the three-time national rally champion is confident his son will make Uganda proud again as he continues to groom him into a future rally driver.

The event is sponsored by BAR Aviation and Extreme adventure park Busiika.
