Ainamani, Kamulindwa remain in Magical Kenya Open contention

Ugandans Abraham Ainamani and David Kamulindwa won a combined sh1.3m as the third leg of this season’s Safari Tour Golf Tournaments ended at the Sigona Golf Club on Wednesday, January 10. 

The Ugandans carded 295 and 296 gross over the two rounds, 18 and 19 strokes away from the winner, Kenyan Greg Snow who won with an 11-under 277. 

Ainamani and Kamulindwa finished 14th and 16th out of the 21 that made the cut, to pocket sh710,000/-  and sh590,000/-, in addition to 18 and 13 Safari Tour points respectively; to ensure they remain in contention for the top eight slots that will make it to the Magical Kenya Open due next month. 

After the Sigona leg which was the third round of this season’s Safari Tour, Ainamani is now eighth on the log on 80.5 points while Kamulindwa is 9th on 77 points from the three events thus far. 

The two will now be looking to an even better outing at the next three tour events due at the Limuru Golf Club, on January 21-24 before the Muthaiga leg on January 27-31; and before the Karen one, February 3-7. 

The top eight players at the end of all the tours will get a chance to compete alongside established professionals in the sh4b-Prize-Money-European Tour Magical Kenya Open slated for February 22-25. 

Dismas Indiza who finished fourth and collected 100 points from the Uganda Open leads the tours standings with 163 points, followed by Samuel Njoroge (135.5pts), Daniel Nduva (115.5), Mike Kisia (108.3), Mohit Mediratta (84), and Kibugu Njoroge (81).
