Vocalist Victor Wajja, widely known by his stage name Victor Ruz and acclaimed for his hit song Love Legend, has signed a promising new artiste named Caspian Marvin to his record label, Retro Records.

The signing took place at the Retro Records office in Nyanama on Entebbe Road on July 18, 2023, where both parties officially put pen to paper.

In an interview with New Vision, Ruz expressed his admiration for Caspian's talent and revealed his motivation to bring the budding artiste into the spotlight. He expressed optimism that Caspian would achieve great success, even surpassing his own accomplishments.

"I recognised Caspian's talent and felt compelled to support him, as I didn't want his potential to go to waste. By investing the same level of effort that I put into my own career, I believe he can surpass me and become an even bigger artiste. I believe that we can elevate ourselves by lifting others," Ruz stated.

When questioned about Retro Records' ability to manage an additional artiste,  given their current roster featuring a young talent named Athaan, Ruz  affirmed that the label had grown into a prominent brand capable of handling more than just two artistes.

He disclosed that Retro Records encompasses all essential aspects of an established label, including financial support, artiste management, and promotion.

While Athaan has not yet met public expectations, Ruz clarified that the label had temporarily halted his promotion and music career due to his ongoing commitment to school. Athaan, currently in his final year of primary education, is focusing on passing his examinations. Ruz reassured that once Athaan returns, they would resume business operations.

Meanwhile, the focus will be on promoting Caspian and propelling him to reach the highest echelons of the music industry before considering other new talents.

"Athaan is still with us, but he is in primary seven and still concentrating on passing his final exams. When he gets back, we shall resume business. Now, Caspian is the one that we are going to push, to see that he makes it to the highest radars and then we shall think of other new talents," he said.

Ruz and Caspian have already hit the studio to record their debut collaboration, which Ruz hopes will serve as an introduction to the world for the talented newcomer.

Ruz's ultimate vision is to nurture and uplift as many young talents as possible, providing them with a platform to flourish and transform into influential brands capable of making an impact on both national and international stages
