A voice reclaimed: How Ugandan boy raised by monkeys defied odds to speak

Ssebunya was a human being whose childhood had been shattered by tragedy. He had fled into the forest after witnessing his father kill his mother. Alone, frightened and still too young to understand the cruelty of the world around him, he disappeared into the bush. There, among the monkeys, he found an unlikely form of companionship and, perhaps most importantly, a place where he could survive. The story travelled far beyond Uganda. He was raised by Paul Wasswa, the man who played a crucial role in bringing him back into human society.
