Several guests lined up to receive him, among them the deputy speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua, who doubles as the NRM national vice chairman for Northern region.

Museveni informed his supporters that he is happy as well that West Nile is finally linked to the national grid, up to as far as Koboko, a border district with South Sudan.
In his campaign message, the president told people that he is happy that Nebbi district alone currently has eight ‘A’ level schools, yet, during their time in the early 1960s, there was no single A' level school in the entire Northern and Eastern Uganda.
“I am very happy because I know where we came from and where we are heading,” he said, making reference to those days when students would travel from Northern and Eastern Uganda to study at Ntare School in Mbarara, Western Uganda, which had 'A' level.

From the figures he picked from the district, the President said Nebbi has sixteen sub-counties, and ten of them have health centres.
He, however, acknowledged the existing shortage of the remaining six sub-counties and committed that the NRM Government will ensure that they will be built in the next term in government.
On her side, Mrs. Museveni centred her message on the youth and asked them to vote for peace and stability in the coming election.

She said Ugandans must not take for granted the current peace they enjoy under the NRM government. She emphasised that peace is the foundation of development and prosperity, and if they mishandle it, there will not be any other homeland they will turn to.
She said that during this campaign period, God is using the NRM to fight for freedom and peace for all Ugandans.
“Please remember, you have a responsibility to your family, to your district and to your country to ensure that peace and freedom remain in Uganda”.
