The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has embarked on a mobilisation and sensitisation campaign for its members in preparation for the 2026 general elections.
This was announced during a press conference held at Kolping Hotel in Masindi Town on June 20, 2025.
Joab Businge, the FDC deputy president in charge of western Uganda, said the party is conducting nationwide mobilisation ahead of the elections, and the national team will be in the Bunyoro sub-region—specifically in Masindi—on June 28, 2025.
Businge, who is also the Masindi Municipality MP, said they will use the visit to register new party members.
During the same press briefing, Fredrick Banage Bitamale, the district party chairperson, unveiled several individuals intending to contest on the FDC ticket.
They include Keren Asiimwe Noti for district woman MP, Isaac Bongomin for municipal mayor, Phillip Kyamanywa for MP Bujenje County, and Issa Balinda for LC3 Central Division, among others.
Banage said the party is currently nominating candidates for various elective positions ranging from MPs to LC1s. He emphasised that national leaders have already been nominated and that campaign activities are underway.
He added that the party remains open to receiving new members interested in contesting under its ticket. Nominations will close by August 15, 2025, after which the party will field capable candidates for the general elections.
Phillip Kyamanywa and Keren Asiimwe Noti, who are vying for the Bujenje County MP and Masindi district woman MP seats, respectively, also addressed the media.
