Youth to celebrate Museveni’s birthday, legacy

Youth across the country have expressed their admiration for President Yoweri Museveni’s legacy and leadership, as they look forward to celebrate his 82nd birthday.
President Museveni is expected to be the Guest of Honour at the celebrations that will take place on Saturday (September 19) at the Kololo ceremonial grounds.
The event organised under the theme; A legacy that inspires Generations: Empowering Africa’s youth for the next phase of the Pan African Revolution, will attract young people from across East Africa, among other distinguished guests.
Addressing the media at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala today (September 17), he explained that the youth have a key role to play in advancing the growth brought about by the NRM government.
“We must transform those foundations into economic opportunities, industrialisation, technology, innovation, production and regional integration,” Kyarisiima said.
He revealed that one of the major highlights of the celebrations will be the launch of ‘Uhuru Na Umoja Freedom and Unity, a Gen Z for Gen 7’ initiative. He said the initiative is intended to raise awareness for integration to create an East African Federation.
President Museveni celebrated his 82nd birthday on September 15, and the youth want to celebrate him for the close to four decades of steering the country towards economic prosperity.
