Why Among declined attending CEC meeting after Museveni's invitation

A close family source said Among had communicated through secretary-general Richard Todwong and head of the NRM electoral commission Tanga Odoi that she would not be attending the CEC meeting because of threats on her life. “These people [security] have made it hard for her to live freely. Yes, she was invited, but what car will she use? They took all her cars. She gave Parliament all their cars. There is a threat on her life,” the source said.

Annet Anita Among was invited to attend the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting in Entebbe over the weekend by President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the party’s national party chairperson,. but the latter declined to attend, citing 'threats on her life'.
