The Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF) has deployed troops from the Military Police to secure examination materials for the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
According to the schedule, the candidates start writing their exams on Monday, November 11th, and end on Friday, December 6th.
The Military Police will reinforce the Uganda Police Force in providing security for the transportation of examination material to storage facilities across the country. The Military Police will then secure the storage facilities and relinquish their core responsibility once the responsible officials sign out the examination materials from the facilities.
A release from the UPDF Directorate of Communications states that the General cautioned against prioritising personal wealth over duty. “Put the country first and money later,” he said, calling on officers and militants to serve diligently and avoid extravagant lifestyles.
At the same events, the Deputy Commandant, Brig Gen Christopher Columbus Tumwiine, reminded troops to act as role models, maintain accountability, and preserve the integrity of the Military Police. He also instructed personnel to stay alert, courteous, and focused on their duties, avoiding political involvement or festive distractions.
Col Sylvia Meeme, the Brigade Operations and Training Officer, urged officers and militants to approach the task with fairness, flexibility, and professionalism.
