Kebeho told members that several factors have made Ugandan sugar lose its market in other countries including unstable sugar prices in Uganda compared to other countries like Kenya and Tanzania and poor quality cane used to produce sugar among others.

Uganda might again lose $150m this year due to a lack of sugar exports, the chairperson of the Uganda Sugar Manufacturer’s Association, Jim Kabeho, has said.
