KABAKA BIRTHDAY RUN

KAMPALA - The State House Comptroller, Jane Barekye, has Sunday (April 7, 2024) joined thousands of Ugandans to participate in this year's Kabaka Birthday Run.

The run was flagged off in Kampala by Nalinya Lubuga Agnes Nabaloga at Lubiri, Mengo on Sunday morning.

This year’s theme: “Men are stars in the fight against HIV/AIDS to save the Girl Child,” reflects the collective efforts to fight one of the most pressing global health challenges.

At the podium to flag off the run, Princess Nabaloga was flanked by Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, and several members of the Royal family including 
Prince David Wasajja, plus Kabaka's children Prince Richard Ssemakokiro,  and Princess Katrina Ssangalyambogo, Politicians in the VIP tent included Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi and  Parliamentary Commissioner Mathias Mpuuga,

At a glance

Mutebi was born at Mulago Hospital in Kampala, on April 13th, 1955.

In 2017, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/ AIDS (UNAIDS) appointed Kabaka Mutebi II as its goodwill ambassador for East and southern Africa.
