SOROTI - A midwife at Ocokican Health Centre III, plus a cleaner, are held at Soroti Katine Central Police Station over alleged theft of government drugs.
On Friday, June 19, SP Moses Olang, the District Police Commander (DPC) of Soroti district, identified the suspects as Belinda Nakanu, a 39-year-old woman and midwife and David Opiding, aged 30-years.
According to the DPC, at the time of arrest, the accused was in possession of government drugs, which included Coartem used to treat malaria.
A case of theft under CRB Soroti Katine 149/2026 has been registered.
