Patients seeking CT scan services at Soroti Regional Referral Hospital are being referred to Mbale after the hospital’s CT scan machine broke down due to technical faults.
The machine developed a problem on May 23, 2026, according to the hospital administration. The CT scan unit serves about 70 to 80 patients every month.
Benzy Peter Omoya, the Principal Hospital Administrator, says the CT scan has been an important service for patients, but it is currently unavailable as they wait for repairs.
He says the hospital has notified the Ministry of Health, and engineers have assessed the machine as they await replacement of the faulty parts.
Meanwhile, Bridget Sanyu, the Senior Radiographer, says patients requiring CT scan services are being referred to Mbale for assistance.
