Security swoop in Arua City nets 93

A total of 93 men were arrested over various offences such as illegal possession of:  narcotic substances, , dangerous weapons and other related cases pending investigations.

The arrested People were screened with the help of local leaders, half of them were charged with various offences as others were cautioned and set free.

ARUA - Police in Arua City Central Business Division and the UPDF have conducted a night operation in leading to arrest of 93 People.

The operation was conducted at sports betting centres along  Transport Road in Barzar Ward and other places within the central division.

A total of 93 men were arrested over various offences such as illegal possession of:  narcotic substances, , dangerous weapons and other related cases pending investigations.

Josephine Angucia, the Police spokesperson for West Nile says, revealed that this Operation stems from public outcry on thefts and robberies in the city centre during day and night hours and it's believed the suspects stay, and plan from the betting centres, and thereafter commit crimes in the city.

Angucia says, this operation to clean Arua City will continue until when sanity returns to the city.
