RUBIRIZI - Rubirizi District women leaders have been urged to unite and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of President Yoweri Museveni’s December 3, 2025, campaign visit.

The call by National Resistance Movement Women League chairperson Adrine Kobusingye follows tensions between Amanya Judith and Arinaitwe Jeniva Nalongo after acrimonious party primaries. Arinaitwe got 27,653 votes against Amanya’s 18,088. Kobusingye is now urging the two to reconcile and unite in mobilising support for President Museveni.

Addressing women leaders at Eden Gardens on November 23, 2025, in Katara trading centre, Kicwamba sub-county, Kobusingye urged unity following tensions that emerged during the recent NRM primaries.

“Let us reconcile and move forward together. Supporting independent candidates only weakens our structures,” she said.

“As women, we are role models in our communities. We must lead by example and mobilise for President Museveni.”

She encouraged women to promote family savings, economic empowerment, and peaceful homes, saying these are essential for community transformation. Kobusingye also launched a women’s SACCO under the Adrine Foundation and pledged shillings five million to strengthen the group’s activities.

Rubirizi district NRM Women’s League chairperson Amanya said the meeting marked the official launch of the women’s grassroots mobilisation drive for President Museveni ahead of the 2026 elections.

“Our message is simple: All Women for Museveni,” Amanya noted. “We have put the primaries behind us. It is time to work together and empower women to fight poverty.”

Ninsiima Prudence, the woman councillor for Kashenyi parish, encouraged women to support development efforts at the household and community levels.

“Let’s work hard, save, and build prosperous families. This meeting helps us clear misunderstandings and strengthens NRM structures as we prepare for victory,” she said.

The mobilisation is expected to continue across all subcounties in Rubirizi as the district prepares to host the President.
