Associate Professor Edmond Kagambe has been appointed Fort Portal-based Mountains of the Moon University's (MMU) deputy vice chancellor (DVC) in charge of finance and administration.

Before this new appointment, Kagambe was in charge of the general administration of the public university as the University Secretary.

“As DVC, he will be responsible for the budgeting, planning, and development of the university. He shall also be a member of top university management," a statement issued by MMU spokesperson Willie Wambedde says.

Kagambe is also expected to oversee university finances, planning and development, resource mobilisation, investment, ICT, quality assurance, and human resource management, among others.

“Professor Kagambe’s knowledge and expertise stretch across a wider spectrum in education administration and management. He has taught 18 years at the university level, as a senior lecturer and associate Professor, and also served as the secretary of the MMU transition Taskforce into a public university for four years,” Wambedde said.

Kagame has a Ph.D. in educational administration and planning from Moi University, Kenya, a master's degree in education from Makerere University, and a bachelor's degree in science with education from Makerere University.
