A police officer was killed, and three of his colleagues seriously injured after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned on Sunday (August 2) while they were heading to work.
The deceased has been identified as Corporal Simeon Magara, who died instantly when the police vehicle attached to Sango Bay operations overturned near Mutukula.
The injured officers, Sergeant Amuku, Corporal Robert Turyahwerwa and driver Sam Nangodi, sustained serious injuries and were rushed for medical treatment.
Preliminary information indicates that the officers were travelling to their duty station when the accident occurred. The circumstances that caused the vehicle to overturn had not been immediately established.
