KAMPALA - Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Clive Nsiima, who was filmed last week assaulting a supermarket attendant at a Shell fuel station at Kyanja, in Nakawa division, Kampala city is facing dismissal from the Force, New Vision Online has learnt.

The development, according to sources, follows a review of his recent conduct by senior commanders.

Sources close to the matter told New Vision Online that Nsiima’s case was discussed in a weekend meeting involving the Force’s top leadership, which examined his service record and other past disciplinary concerns that were previously not made public.

“The officer remains in custody and will be presented before court today, Monday, October 13, 2025,” a source revealed. “He faces possible dismissal and criminal prosecution.”

The leadership’s decision reportedly followed a comprehensive review of the Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) footage and related reports.

According to sources, the institution has recently intensified efforts to enforce discipline, uphold the rule of law, and protect the rights and freedoms of all citizens, in line with its constitutional mandate to ensure public safety, peace, and development.

They added that the Force is also renewing its focus on professionalism, integrity, and accountability, alongside strengthening community policing as a pillar of inclusive national security and trust-building between citizens and law enforcement.

The arrest

Nsiima was arrested on October 8, 2025, after a video circulated widely on social media showing him slapping a female cashier during an altercation over an alleged shs30,000 unpaid bill.

The footage shows Nsiima, dressed in civilian attire, angrily confronting the attendant before striking her twice while questioning how she could drive “such a car” and asking whether he himself could “run away with shillings 100,000.”

He later produced a credit card for payment to another cashier.

Police spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma confirmed the officer’s arrest last week, saying a joint team from Kyanja Police and the Professional Standards Unit (PSU) took him into custody shortly after the video emerged.

Nsiima is attached to the Directorate of Counter Terrorism under the Oil and Gas Protection Unit.  The victim filed a complaint and is receiving medical and psychosocial support.
