A total of 18 suspects, including two females, have been arrested during a police search in Kampala for stolen motor vehicle parts.

Police records indicate that the suspects were picked up from Life Arcade (Kisekka market)  in connection with car vandalism.

Kampala Central Police Station, in conjunction with their counterparts at Jinja Road, on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, mounted an operation in Kisekka market area, seizing several suspected stolen car parts.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Rachael Kawala, says that the arrest followed several complaints from members of the public due to a massive wave of vehicle vandalism, especially along Kampala-Jinja Road, the Nakawa-Ntinda stretch, the Lugogo bypass, and other parts of the city.

“The crackdown specifically targets an organised criminal network responsible for plucking side mirrors from moving vehicles stuck in peak-hour traffic jams and cars parked on owners’ premises,” she said.
