International healing evangelist Pastor Benny Hinn on Friday launched a three-day Miracle Healing Crusade at Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga, drawing thousands from Uganda and abroad.
On Friday (June 27), Day One, his message centred on the Person of the Holy Spirit, urging believers to pursue a deeper relationship with God beyond miracles and signs.
Drawing his sermon from Zechariah 4:6, Pastor Benny declared before a record-breaking crowd of over 200,000 believers at Miracle Centre Cathedral Rubaga: “It is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord.”
What followed was not just another revival meeting, but a historic spiritual moment that saw Uganda open its arms to a divine visitation.
The crowds had started gathering from early morning, with some arriving at dawn to secure seats for themselves close to the altar. By 5:00 pm, the service had officially started, but the atmosphere had already been thick with prayer, praise, and expectancy.

The crusade brought together Christians from across Uganda and foreign delegations from 11 countries, including India, the United Kingdom, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, South Sudan, Burundi, the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, and Tanzania, among others.

The 1000-member choir assembled from different born-again churches in Uganda led the congregation during praise and worship music.

And while the host church, Miracle Centre Cathedral and its branches, organised the logistics, volunteers and ministers from various denominations and ministries across Uganda stood side by side in support, creating a rare display of national Christian unity.
Before Pastor Benny Hinn even took the podium, testimonies were already visible from the congregation. In what can only be described as sovereign, dozens of people received healing during the worship session and even while queuing at the gates.

By the time ushers opened the designated section for those who had been healed, it was filled within minutes. From the blind gaining sight to the lame walking unaided, to the oppressed set free. “I didn’t even get prayed for yet,” said Aidah Kyobutungi, who had arrived on a stretcher from Luwero.
“During worship, I felt power in my legs. I stood, then I walked.”
When Benny Hinn stepped onto the podium, he noted, “The disciples who walked with Jesus saw Him perform miracles. They saw the dead raised and the blind see. But until the Holy Spirit came, they didn’t understand who He really was.”

Referencing John 16:7, he reminded the congregation that Jesus Himself said it was better for Him to leave so that the Holy Spirit could come. “Miracles, signs, and wonders don’t change the hearts of men,” Hinn continued. “Only the Spirit does. You can’t change anyone by preaching alone. Without the Spirit, even Peter denied Jesus.”
Hinn went on and called the Holy Spirit “Jesus with no limits.” He explained that while Jesus walked physically in Galilee and Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit brings the presence of Christ to every believer, anywhere in the world.
“You don’t need to go to Jerusalem to encounter God,” he said. “He lives in you. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you.”

Pastor Benny Hinn also challenged traditional assumptions about the Trinity.
“The Holy Spirit is not third in line because He is the least,” he said. “He is third because He is the Work.”
He broke it down for the congregation: “God the Father commands. God the Son carries it out. And God the Spirit manifests it in our lives.”
With that, he explained how every spiritual experience, every revelation of Christ, every transformation of heart, is made possible only through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
He went on to quote from John 21:15–17, where Jesus repeatedly asks Peter if he loves Him. “Jesus will always accept the love you give Him,” Hinn said.
“But when the Holy Spirit came upon Peter, his love matured. It became fearless. He could now love Jesus enough to die for Him.” He paused, then added gently: “Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot love the Lord.”
Hinn further emphasised that Christianity is not a belief system or institution but rather a revelation.
“Christianity is not a religion,” he declared. “It is the revelation of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit is the one who reveals Him.”
“I’ve grown up in church,” said David Opolot, a university student from Makerere. “But this was the first time I understood that the Holy Spirit is not just power, He’s a person, and He’s with me.”
To those struggling with spiritual warfare, depression, and fear, Pastor Benny closed with an assuring declaration.
“The devil may show up in your life. He may try to intimidate you. But if he does, the Holy Spirit will protect and cover you. There is a wall of fire around you.” He paused and then repeated: “The devil will never harm you.”
Some posts on his social media sites has since shared his impressions about the crusade.
"Dear sweet people of God, my heart is full. Night 1 of our Uganda Healing Crusade was glorious!
The Power of God came down like a mighty river.
This is the move we’ve prayed for… and it’s only just begun," reads a post on X.
The site also revealed that 10,000 pastors across the world stood in unity at the crusade.

“We are witnessing the fulfillment of prophecy,” said Pastor Robert Kayanja in his closing remarks. “Uganda is not just receiving revival, we are becoming a place where nations come to drink from the well.”
The crusade continues for two more days, with thousands more expected to travel to Rubaga.
