The Inspector General of Police, Abas Byakagaba, has made transfers and appointments among senior officers, including the return of Norman Musinga to the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety after three years.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Norman Musinga, formerly the Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Busoga East, has been appointed Acting Deputy Director of Traffic and Road Safety.
This marks his return to the traffic department, where he previously served as the Commander of Traffic for Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) before his redeployment in 2021.
Traffic Police is headed by Lawrence Nuwabiine.
In another high-profile move, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Geoffrey Musana, who was recently promoted to his current rank, has been appointed as the Police Attaché at the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan.
Musana’s elevation and subsequent diplomatic posting highlight his continued rise within the Uganda Police Force.
Senior Commissioner of Police (SCP), Moses Sakira, has been recalled from his posting as Police Attaché at the Ugandan Embassy in South Sudan and reassigned as Deputy Director in the Directorate of Research and Planning. Replacing him in South Sudan is Musana.
