On Monday, April 15, 2024, some youth petitioned NIRA over alleged gross misconduct and irregularities in the recruitment process in the district.

Richard Wackio, the district registration officer NIRA in charge of Kwania and Apac, said they verified the allegations and found it null and void saying the petitioners were being misled by politicians.

A section of job applicants in the Kwania district, who recently petitioned the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) over alleged irregularities in the recent recruitment, have withdrawn their petition.

On Monday, April 15, 2024, some youth petitioned NIRA over alleged gross misconduct and irregularities in the recruitment process in the district.

This came one month after NIRA advertised positions for 10,594 registration assistants, 767 data processors, and communication and research assistants among other positions, in a countrywide exercise.

In the petition to the NIRA executive director, the youth alleged that the recruitment, which was conducted by the recruitment team in the district was marred by gross misconduct and irregularities, calling for a fresh recruitment exercise.

Addressing the media shortly after meeting NIRA officials on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, lead petitioner Emmanuel Atim said they are no longer interested in pursuing the petition after realising that their claims were not substantial.

Richard Wackio, the district registration officer NIRA in charge of Kwania and Apac, said they verified the allegations and found it null and void saying the petitioners were being misled by politicians.

Kwania Resident District Commissioner Richard Arikwanga Noon hailed the petitioners for their calmness and following the matter to the dot.
