According to the President, the First couple hosted a private dinner celebrating Gen. Muhoozi's 50th birthday at Entebbe.

President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni have held a private birthday party for First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

According to the President, the First couple hosted a private dinner celebrating Gen. Muhoozi's 50th birthday at Entebbe. 

"I am grateful to God for reuniting me with Maama Janet, whom I accidentally met at the Intercontinental Hotel and married in August 1973," President Museveni posted on X, formerly Twitter on Monday, April 29, 2024.

The latest birthday celebrations for Kainerugaba, who is also the Uganda army's Chief of defence forces, are the icing on the cake of birthday celebrations that started last week.

Scores of people on Wednesday, April 24, thronged the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) at the headquarters in Naguru, Kampala to celebrate and offer congratulatory messages to Kainerugaba.

The well-decorated spacious compound had portraits of Kainerugaba with messages of success and congratulations.

From religious, political to youth leaders, a multitude of supporters were visibly happy and chatting as the day unfolded.

Several well-wishers also took to X, formerly Twitter, to wish Kainerugaba, who is also the First Son, a long life.

Born 50 years ago (April 24, 1974) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Mrs Janet Museveni, Kainerugaba has grown up to be a man who has won many hearts.

Kainerugaba is also the chairperson and patron of PLU. His birthday comes about a month since he replaced Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi as CDF of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF).

Natasha Museveni Karugire also led the glowing tributes as her big brother, Kainerugaba, celebrated his 50th birthday on Wednesday.

Sharing a collage of adorable photos on her X handle with her siblings and the birthday boy, Natasha wrote: “The name Kainerugaba means he is with God, or God is with him. May the LORD go before you always, brother, and may He be your rear guard. Birthday blessings”.

She was not the only one to send her regards to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Political leaders, supporters, and friends shared their warm sentiments, with some sharing a collection of photos of the CDF from his younger days to date.
