Museveni fans organize fete to celebrate his legacy

KAMPALA - Describing herself as a representative of friends and well-wishers, Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde, the National Resistance Movement's director in charge mobilisation, has unveiled the plans to celebrate the legacy of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

The events will be held at  Kololo Independence grounds, on July, 5th, 2024.

While addressing journalists at Kati-Kati Restaurant on Friday, June 21, 2024, Sseninde said, there will be a series of festivities including a free medical camp, and music performances from prominent artistes.

“Let me be clear on this, this is not an event for the NRM party, but rather all Uganda at large, regardless of our political affiliations,” she said.

Sseninde also disclosed that several ministries and government agencies shall showcase different achievements that have benefited Ugandans under the leadership of President Museveni.

Dr. Samuel Oledo Odongo a member of the organizing committee said they are expecting a huge turnup of senior medics to handle any health-related matters at the medical camp during the celebrations. 

The chairperson Organising committee, Shakur Walusimbi hailed Sseninde for coming up with such an initiative that will send a gesture to the young generation, to fully understand how far President Yoweri has brought Uganda.

Meanwhile, Susan Kushaba, coordinator, KCCA markets hailed President Yoweri Museveni for returning the markets back to the government whereby he chased away all the landlords who were exploiting the vendors.

“We have several reasons why we should celebrate President Museveni’s existence and notable among them, is the fact that he gave birth to his vibrant son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who has started emulating his leadership skills including the fight against corruption,” Kushaba said.
