Museveni commends Christianity for fueling national growth
The President said Christianity’s universal approach has propelled national growth and prosperity.

President Yoweri Museveni has highlighted the importance of Christianity in fostering national development and unity.
“Christianity brought enlightenment to our society. Most people abandoned their old ways of living. They learned to boil milk and water for drinking and as well as managing to take their children to school, including girls. It ushered in a positive transformation,” Museveni said.
The President's remarks were delivered by Vice President Jessica Alupo, who represented him during the second day of the East Africa Fire and Anointing Pastors' Conference at Sharing Hall Nsambya in Kampala today (August 25).

On her part, Alupo commended Dr. Michelle Corral, a visiting American pastor, for her humanitarian efforts towards supporting refugees. Pastor Corral is the founder of the Breath of the Spirit International Ministries. Uganda has about 2 million refugees from neighbouring countries.
“If you have spiritually seen the light, then you must do the same economically. You cannot see the spiritual light yet stay in economic darkness. You must push yourself a little extra and improve your household incomes,” Alupo said.
Pastors appeal for support
Earnest Kivumbi, the President of Heal the Planet Organisation, called for the Government to construct a prayer hall for them to ably preach the Gospel.
“We need a facility that accommodates us and is gazetted not in an individual’s name but something that can be used for future generations. Hiring places for worship can be challenging,” he narrated.
Kivumbi commended President Museveni for creating an enabling environment that has enabled growth in the spirituality of Ugandans.
