WAKISO - Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the aggravated robbery that occurred on July 14, 2026, at Rafiki Gardens in Kiti A Cell, Nangabo Sub-county, Wakiso District.
Following two separate police operations, two suspects, Michael Mutyaba and Paul Bazalanga, were arrested, according to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer.
He said the arrests led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, two loaded magazines containing 58 rounds of ammunition, and two camouflage uniforms believed to have been used during the commission of the offence.
“The robbery involved armed men, who attacked a beer delivery truck, assaulted the driver, shot the manager of Rafiki Gardens, and robbed customers of their mobile phones and other valuables before fleeing the scene,” Owoyesigyire said.
According to Owoyesigyire, investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the criminal group and recover additional exhibits linked to the case.
“The arrested suspects remain in police custody and will be arraigned before the courts of law on charges related to aggravated robbery and other offences once investigations are concluded,” he stated.
He commended members of the public who continue to provide information that supports crime investigations and urged anyone with further information regarding this case to report to the nearest police station.
