Maj. Gen. Karach’s widow granted permission to manage husband's estate
Court also advised the petitioner and beneficiaries to comply with Section 273(1) of the Succession Act by filing an initial and final inventory, account and distribution of the estate.
Justice Karoli Lwanga Ssemogerere issued the grant under Section 256(4) of the Succession Act, Cap 268, in Administration Cause No. 044 of 2026.

KABALE - The High Court in Kabale has granted Annet Kyampeire, widow of the late Major General Deus Sande Karach, letters of administration to manage her late husband’s estate.
Justice Karoli Lwanga Ssemogerere issued the grant under Section 256(4) of the Succession Act, Cap 268, in Administration Cause No. 044 of 2026.
The judge directed Kyampeire to file an inventory of the estate within six months from the date of the grant, in accordance with the law.
Kyampeire petitioned the court for the grant as the widow of Karach, who was serving in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) at the time of his death.
According to the ruling, a copy of the marriage certificate between Kyampeire and the deceased was attached to the court record.
The ruling also states that the deceased was survived by three children, namely Deus Wilfred Kwebaza, Clinton Akandwanaho and Flavia Kyasimire.
The three children are adults and participated in the court proceedings virtually.
Justice Ssemogerere said the petitioner and the beneficiaries had agreed on how the estate would be managed and had informed court accordingly
The estate comprises several properties and effects listed in paragraph four of the petition, as well as death and pension benefits.
The ruling also states that the deceased was survived by three children, namely Deus Wilfred Kwebaza, Clinton Akandwanaho and Flavia Kyasimire.
